EM-MHMARS-H — Horizontal Rail, Aluminium or Stainless Steel
EasyMod MARS-H is the horizontal rail variant of the MARS system, available in two material specifications: powder-coated aluminium (EN AW-6063 T6, any RAL colour) and 316L stainless steel (brushed or mirror polished). Both share the same post geometry and fixing system, allowing mixed-material specifications across a single building. Horizontal bar profiles available: **Ø12mm round** (slender, refined — most popular for residential), **Ø16mm round** (slightly heavier presence), **14×14mm square** (architectural, precise shadow lines), **30×15mm flat** (linear blade, medium visual weight), **50×15mm flat** (wide blade, strong privacy — reads as a louvre panel from street level). Bar spacing is 100–120mm horizontally within the panel. The horizontal orientation creates a clean linear rhythm and is wind-permeable — reducing wind pressure on exposed balcony faces and making the system well-suited for high-rise facades and coastal settings. Both aluminium and stainless versions comply with EN 1991-1-1 residential and commercial load requirements.

Aluminium is lighter, available in any RAL colour, and lower cost. It is the default choice for residential developments with a specific facade colour scheme. Stainless steel is maintenance-free, requires no paint, and delivers a premium metallic appearance — preferred for commercial projects, coastal settings, and developments where the railing finish needs to remain consistent over 20+ years without repainting.
Yes. Both use identical post dimensions and fixing plates. A common approach is stainless for ground-floor commercial frontages (higher abuse and visibility) and aluminium for upper residential floors.
316L (1.4404) is marine-grade stainless — the standard for coastal and offshore applications. It will not rust or pit in normal salt-air environments. Regular washing (twice yearly) removes salt deposits and maintains appearance.
100mm horizontal bar spacing is standard for fall protection. 120mm is acceptable under DIN 18065 for certain configurations. Tighter spacing increases privacy but reduces wind permeability.
