Zip Screen Blinds & Exterior Shading
Formerly known as Luxa 100S Solar-Powered Zip Screen
ZIP 100SA solar-powered zip screen — same Tela 100 motor and zip rail, powered by a compact solar panel mounted on the cassette. Battery lasts ~3-4 weeks of normal use, recharges from daylight. Perfect for retrofits where running cable is expensive or impossible.
No wires. No plug. Just sun.
Most zip screens need a 230V cable buried in the wall. The Tela 100S doesn't. A small solar panel on the cassette charges a lithium battery; the same RTS 24V motor that drives the Tela 100 lowers and raises the screen on demand. Battery typically lasts 3-4 weeks of daily use; in summer it never runs out. Ideal for renovations, listed buildings where wall channels are forbidden, or remote terraces where the nearest plug is 30 metres away. Same zip-guided fabric, same EN 13561 wind class 2, same 200+ RAL fabric palette as the wired siblings.
Use this route when the facade, pergola or opening needs vertical shading with better control of glare, privacy and wind exposure.
ZIP screens work as a facade-shading layer, pergola side closure or hospitality weather-control layer.
Clarify opening dimensions, guide fixing, fabric openness, control type and exposure before the screen is specified.
Treat ZIP screens as part of the building envelope rather than an accessory so the result improves comfort and appearance.
Pair ZIP screens with pergolas for side closure and privacy.

Use these answers when comparing a solar-powered ZIP screen for retrofit shading projects where cable routing should be avoided.
Luxa Tela 100S is a solar-powered ZIP-guided exterior screen for retrofit openings where facade shading is needed but routing new electrical cables is difficult or undesirable.
Compare ZIP screens →Choose the solar route when the opening has suitable daylight exposure, wiring is impractical and the project still needs powered exterior screen control.
Compare wired motor route →Confirm opening dimensions, solar exposure, cassette and guide position, fabric openness, wind exposure, control expectation and whether the screen will be used on a facade or pergola side.
Review solar screen →Compact solar panel charges integrated battery. No mains, no wiring. Whisper-quiet motor. Operates for weeks without direct sunlight.
Same ZIP technology as mains-powered Luxa 100. Taut under project-reviewed wind exposure.
No electrical wiring at all. Mount and operate in hours. Ideal for retrofit and rental.
RTS. Remote, app, voice control. Wireless sun and wind sensors for autonomous operation.
The Luxa 100S excels in retrofit and wireless-first scenarios. Existing buildings where routing cables requires cutting into walls, rental properties needing removable…
Same as Luxa 100: wireless sun/wind sensors, pergola brackets, insect mesh. The entire system — screen, motor, panel, sensors — operates completely wire-free.
A compact PV panel on the cassette charges a lithium-ion battery. 5–10 full cycles per day even in Northern Europe. Battery backup lasts weeks without direct sunlight.
Yes. The battery stores enough energy for extended operation. Even diffuse winter daylight charges the panel for regular use.
Same ZIP system and frame. 100S = solar + battery (wireless), 100 = mains motor (230V), 100M = manual crank. All interchangeable.
Compact, colour-matched to the cassette frame. Barely visible from ground level.
Ideal when: running cables is impractical/costly, retrofitting existing buildings, rental properties (no permanent modifications), or for completely wireless aesthetics.
Width: 900–4,000 mm. Height: 500–3,500 mm. Max area: 12.5 m².
Positioned between manual 100M and mains 100. Motorised convenience without wiring costs. Request a quote from your PONARC dealer.
