Frameless Glass Railings
Formerly known as FS 1500 Frameless Glass System
FS 1500Residential frameless glass railing with slim aluminium base channel. 1.5 kN rated, VSG laminated safety glass, designed and checked against EN 1991-1-1. 10-year warranty.
Slim Base Shoe, Maximum Transparency
The FS 1500 is a residential-grade frameless glass railing system built around a slim 100mm aluminium base shoe channel. It accepts VSG laminated safety glass (6+6, 8+8 or 10+10 mm laminated safety glass) seated on EPDM gaskets with dry-glaze wedge clamping β no silicone or wet sealant required. The profile mounts to concrete or steel substrates via stainless steel A4 anchors at 300mm centres, with both top-mount and side-mount brackets available. Glass heights up to 1000mm (FS 1500) or 1200mm (FS 3000/7000) satisfy EN 1991-1-1 residential barrier loads (1.5 kPa wind load). Cladding covers in brushed stainless, polished stainless, or full RAL powder coat conceal the base shoe for a clean finish. Panels are spaced 10β20mm apart with transparent silicone joints. The system is CE marked and tested per EN 12150 for thermal toughening and EN ISO 12543 for lamination.
Use this route when the project needs view-preserving safety, a clean architectural edge and clear load or approval assumptions.
Glass railings suit balconies, terraces and commercial edges where transparency and safety need to work together.
Confirm substrate, glass height, wind exposure, line-load requirement and approval documentation before pricing.
Move from visual selection to standards-aware specification so the railing is not treated as a simple glass panel.
Use FS 1500 for lighter residential frameless glass routes.

Use these answers when comparing a slim frameless glass railing route for residential balconies, terraces and view-sensitive edges.
FS 1500 is used for residential frameless glass railing projects where a clean base-channel look, transparent edge protection and a lighter project review are the main priorities.
Compare glass railings βMove up the range when the project has higher exposure, stronger load expectations, commercial use or a documentation route that needs a heavier base-channel specification.
Compare heavy-duty route βConfirm edge condition, fixing surface, glass height, project country, wind exposure, drainage detail and whether top-mount or side-mount fixing is preferred.
Request railing review βCompact U-channel profile in extruded 6063-T5 aluminium β minimal visual footprint at the base.
No silicone curing required. Glass panels are secured with EPDM gaskets and aluminium wedges for fast, clean installation.
6+6, 8+8 or 10+10 mm laminated safety glass β panels remain intact if fractured, meeting EN ISO 12543.
Flexible mounting to concrete slab, steel beam, or fascia edge with A4 stainless anchors.
Decorative cladding covers in any RAL colour or stainless steel finish conceal all fixings.

The FS 1500 frameless glass railing system is purpose-built for residential environments where unobstructed views and a clean aesthetic matter most. On villa balconiesβ¦
The system accepts laminated safety glass (VSG) in 6+6, 8+8 or 10+10 mm configurations with 0.76β1.52 mm PVB interlayer. Glass selection depends on wind load requirements per EN 1991-1-4.
Standard heights are 1000mm and 1100mm above the finished floor level, suitable for residential applications per EN 1991-1-1.
Yes. The aluminium base shoe and A4 stainless fixings are fully weather-resistant. Powder-coated cladding protects against UV and rain.
No handrail is required for residential balconies up to 12m fall height in most European codes. An optional round or flat-top rail can be added.
